La Bête Reviews
I've tried this food truck whenever it frequents the VAMC during the week. I've tried the shrimp tacos which were *chef's kiss*. They were the reason I went back to try this truck a second time. I got a chicken sandwich next, but like another reviewer says, "Don't bother with their burgers, you'll come down with something sitting out for 25+ minutes." Admittedly, I had come around 1:30PM, so I'm sure that's why things might have not been as fresh as possible, but I did have a touch of food poisoning the following morning, which is why this rating is 4/5. Lastly, everything is a bit on the pricier side, but when it comes to breaking up the monotony of the VA cafeteria, I'll pay the price.
From their food truck, I got to try their Shrimp and Grits with Blue Crab Gravy. I loved how their shrimp was super juicy and covered with a nicely fried butter-y crispy batter! The staff told me beforehand that this batch of grits isn't quite the right texture and confirmed if I was ok before paying. I appreciated his heads up and still found the grits to be decent! The best part was the gravy in my opinion. Before opening up my take out box, I could just smell the crab aroma!! I loved how they had little bits of crab meat inside and overall it was nicely seasoned! The Shrimp and Grits was $20, which definitely over my daily lunch budget, and I didn't know until after I ordered. I admit I am at fault for not clarifying but I wish that they posted the prices with their menu on the truck.
The best food truck with the nicest people! I couldn't decide between the shrimp tacos and the chicken sandwich so Randy made me a combination - and it was so delicious! Such a great experience 10/10 would recommend
Had the blue crab roll - delicious - worth the price! Great service as well. Would eat here again!
